CHILLINGHAM CASTLE

Haunted Chillingham - are you brave enough?

Chillingham Castle boasts some of the highest levels of paranormal activity in the country, with a large collection of spectres and apparitions spotted by visitors over the years. The poet Longfellow begins an apt description of Chillingham with the following verse:

"All houses in which men have lived and died are haunted houses. Through the open doors the harmless phantoms on their errands glide, with feet that make no sound upon the floors."

Location - Chillingham Castle, Northumberland

No alcohol policy (for Health & Safety reasons, whilst at the Castle)

Chillingham castle is a 13th century, Grade 1 stronghold in Northumberland, famed for action and battles. With its fine rooms, gardens, lakes, fountains and tearoom, the castle has an extraordinary ownership bloodline which runs back to the 1200s.

You'll learn about the history of Chillingham as we move from room to room then back to the Minstrels Hall for a hot beverage before the vigil commences.
